Yamaha Motor India has unveiled the 2020 FZ 25 that now meets the BS6 emission norms. The company has also unveiled the FZS 25 variant of the motorcycle that is now the new range-topping version. The 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 gets a host of new equipment along with the new BS6 compliant engine and new colour schemes as well. Prices will be revealed with the FZ 25’s scheduled launch in April. The new FZS 25 is slated for launch later in the year.
Speaking on the occasion, Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India said,
"Yamaha is determined to provide exciting two-wheeler experiences to the Indian customers, the one that has earned it a name to reckon with in the whole world. The Unique Style of Yamaha is well-crafted in all the current line up from the company. While the new FZ 25 will command street adventure with a new heart revving experience, the company's objective to set the global racing excitement into Indian roads will close into a proportionate wholeness. In future, the company will look forward to bring more excitement on board as a part of its brand commitment in India."
The 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 gets styling revisions including the revised headlamp cluster that gets the bi-functional treatment and continues to be an LED unit. There's also a negative LCD display for the instrument console, underbelly cowl and a side-stand engine cut-off switch added in the mix. The FZ 25 continues to get the muscular styling and will be available in two colour options - Metallic Black and Racing Blue. The new Yamaha FZS 25 will sport all the changes as the FZ 25 but will be offered in Dark Cyan, Dark Blue and Metallic White paint options. The former two colour options will be offered with gold-painted alloy wheels.
The updated Yamaha FZ 25 continues to use the same 249 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor that's now BS6 compliant. Power output remains the same at 20.5 bhp at 8000 rpm and 20.1 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. The motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Other cycle parts are likely to remain unchanged including the telescopic forks up front, a mono-shock unit at the rear, disc brakes at either end and dual-channel ABS.
